Porcelain Inlays & Onlays in Bradford, Keswick & Orangeville
Inlays and Onlays are special types of tooth fillings that are extremely durable and are made to easily withstand the grueling force and pressure associated with biting and chewing. The difference between these dental fillings is their respective location on the tooth. Dental Onlays rebuild the cusps (corners) of the tooth, while dental inlays restore the flat surface between the cusps.
The affected tooth is first “prepared” at our family dental clinic, then the actual inlay or onlay is manufactured in an off-site dental lab. The materials used are gold or, more recently, durable white ceramic (to blend in seamlessly with the surrounding natural tooth structure). Since these dental restorations are made in a lab, two separate appointments are required to complete the treatment.
